Construction Manager
Role Responsibilities:
The Construction Supervisor will oversee the construction crew, ensuring adherence to specifications and maintaining project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily job safety analyses to identify and address safety concerns, ensuring a secure working environment for all employees.
- Efficiently manage and supervise crew activities.
- Direct the training, development, and performance evaluations of crew members.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of project plans and specific duties.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.
- Oversee the management of tools, materials, and supplies.
- Ensure optimal equipment utilization.
- Respond promptly to production issues on-site.
- Accurately report crew hours and code time on daily timesheets.
- Implement strategies that enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Candidates must adhere to all safety policies and procedures, reporting any unsafe activities to the Safety Representative or supervisor.
Engage in proactive teamwork to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Demonstrate leadership through example and knowledge sharing.
Language Proficiency:
Ability to read basic two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers. Capable of printing and speaking simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills:
Proficient in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Organizational Skills:
Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Safety Compliance:
Knowledgeable about and compliant with the company's safety policies and procedures as outlined in the safety manual.
Education:
Less than a High School Diploma.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in highway and road construction is required, with knowledge of one or two phases of construction (e.g., Pipe, Dirt, Structures, Pavement).
Physical Requirements:
The role involves heavy physical activity and strenuous daily tasks.
Manual Dexterity:
Sufficient manual dexterity to handle items and work with fingers, with the ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including rain, sun, snow, and wind. Regular exposure to extreme temperatures, wet conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
Pre-Employment Screening:
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States to qualify for employment with Ferrovial Agroman SA.
Drug Testing:
Selected candidates will be required to complete and pass a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
Physical Examination:
Candidates selected for field positions must complete and pass a medical examination to ensure they can perform the required tasks.
