Supervisor: Construction Manager

Role Responsibilities:

The Concrete Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the construction crew, materials, and equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.


Key Duties:
  • Conduct daily job safety analyses to address safety concerns and ensure a secure working environment for all employees.
  • Efficiently manage crew activities and operations.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate crew members, ensuring their development and proper work assignments.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of project plans and specific responsibilities.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.
  • Oversee the management of tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Ensure optimal equipment utilization.
  • Respond promptly to production issues on-site.
  • Accurately report crew hours and code time on daily timesheets.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of company operations.

Qualifications:

Candidates must adhere to all safety policies and procedures, reporting any unsafe activities to the Safety Representative or supervisor. Participation in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company objectives is essential.

Leadership skills are required to guide others through example and knowledge sharing.


Language Proficiency:

Candidates should be able to read and recognize basic words and numbers, as well as print and communicate simple sentences.


Mathematical Skills:

Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to interpret bar graphs is necessary.


Reasoning Ability:

Candidates must demonstrate common sense understanding to execute detailed instructions and resolve straightforward problems.


Planning and Organizing:

The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is required.


Safety Awareness:

Employees must be knowledgeable about and comply with the company's safety policies as outlined in the safety manual.


Education:

A minimum of less than a High School Diploma is required.


Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in highway and road construction is required, with knowledge in one or two construction phases (e.g., Pipe, Dirt, Structures, Pavement).


Physical Requirements:

This position involves heavy physical activity, including strenuous tasks of a primarily productive or technical nature.


Working Conditions:

Employees will be exposed to outdoor conditions, including varying weather (rain, sun, snow, wind). The work environment may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, moving mechanical parts, and elevated areas. Noise levels are typically loud.
