Position Overview:

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Excavation Operator is responsible for the operation of heavy machinery equipped with an excavator bucket. This role involves tasks such as digging trenches, constructing structures, and performing large-scale excavations, as well as the installation of piping and precast concrete elements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Start and operate machinery by manipulating controls and levers.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers to ensure efficient loading of materials.
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards and obstacles in the work environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment as necessary.
  • Adjust machinery settings to optimize performance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions to management.
  • Engage in team initiatives to meet organizational objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Carry out other assigned tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum educational requirement is less than a High School Diploma, complemented by relevant experience in construction operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including exposure to elements such as rain, sun, and wind.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The role involves significant physical activity, requiring stamina and strength for demanding tasks.

MANUAL SKILLS
Ability to handle tools and machinery with precision and dexterity is essential.
