Job Summary:

The Student Assistant performs a variety of administrative duties to support the daily operations of the college. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate records, and performing tasks related to job responsibilities and departmental projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support:
    • Operates a variety of office equipment, including personal computers, printers, photocopiers, and scanners.
    • Opens, sorts, and distributes mail for multiple managers.
    • Maintains and files department documents.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provides information and directions to students, faculty, and staff.
    • Assists with distribution of information to the public, students, and faculty by phone, mail, or other appropriate means.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintains confidentiality of all records and databases associated with assigned area.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Currently enrolled Lone Star student pursuing a course of study.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

  • The work is sedentary, with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
  • Equipment used includes personal computers, printers, photocopiers, and scanners.
