JOB SUMMARY


Assists the Director of Recreation in overseeing all facets of the pool and beach facilities, ensuring comprehensive maintenance, daily cleanliness, and the efficient operation of cabana units. Models exemplary service behaviors for both guests and staff, aiming to enhance satisfaction levels and optimize financial outcomes within assigned responsibilities. Collaborates with direct reports to implement departmental strategies effectively.


CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 1 year of experience in recreation or health club operations or a related field.
OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related discipline; no prior work experience required.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Recreation Operations

  • Supervises and directs staff, ensuring smooth daily operations. Capable of performing staff duties in their absence.
  • Monitors service quality and standards, consistently meeting customer expectations.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of job-related issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Schedules events, programs, and activities, as well as managing staff assignments.
  • Provides personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to colleagues and guests.
  • Establishes specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work tasks.
  • Oversees the management of external vendors, including water sports and scuba services.
  • Orders and manages essential supplies, ensuring staff have the necessary tools and equipment.
  • Coordinates the children's program, including activity planning and supply management.
  • Organizes group activities such as sand painting, bonfires, and team-building events.
  • Maintains pool and beach areas, ensuring cleanliness and operational efficiency of cabana units.
Delivering Exceptional Customer Service

  • Acts as a role model, demonstrating appropriate service behaviors.
  • Provides exceptional services that enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Improves service quality by effectively communicating with guests to understand their needs, offering guidance and feedback as necessary.
Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Identifies developmental needs of team members and provides coaching and mentoring to enhance their skills.
  • Participates in the performance appraisal process, providing constructive feedback.
  • Coordinates training initiatives for department employees.
  • Fosters mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Communicates performance expectations and objectives clearly to subordinates, encouraging open dialogue.
The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $72,000 annually.
