Role Responsibilities:

  • Support various accounting functions, including financial accounting, accounts payable, receivables, month-end closing, and payroll.
  • Assist in implementing internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to prepare financial reports in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Facilitate the accounts payable process to ensure timely and accurate invoice payments.
  • Manage customer invoicing and track outstanding receivables to ensure compliance with payment terms.
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve invoicing discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation for annual audits.
  • Review budget reports and help departments maintain accountability for expenditures.
  • Support payroll processing, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain compliance with workers' compensation insurance requirements and classifications.
  • Oversee corporate credit card reconciliation and reporting.
  • Manage invoice processing, including verification, approval, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in accounting processes and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Knowledge of general journal entries.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is preferred.
  • Experience in construction and/or manufacturing accounting is advantageous.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience is required.
  • Familiarity with ADP, SAP, QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Experience with job costing is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
