As the Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in advancing our mission by leveraging your expertise to oversee and interpret financial data, ensuring precision and adherence to regulations. Your insights will empower us to make strategic decisions, optimize financial resources, and enhance the fiscal health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts payable, receivables, month-end closing, and payroll.
  • Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing financial reports in accordance with established accounting standards.
  • Facilitate the payables process to guarantee timely and accurate invoice payments.
  • Manage customer invoicing and monitor outstanding receivables to ensure compliance with payment terms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve invoicing discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation for annual audits.
  • Review budget reports and help maintain departmental accountability for expenditures.
  • Support payroll processing while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date workers' compensation insurance requirements and classifications for employees.
  • Assist in reconciling corporate credit card transactions and reporting.
  • Oversee invoice management, including verification, approval, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify and propose enhancements to accounting processes and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Familiarity with general journal entries.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is preferred.
  • Experience in construction and/or manufacturing accounting is a plus.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience is required.
  • Familiarity with ADP, SAP, or QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Experience in job costing is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
