Job Opportunity: Director of the Institute for Agriculture

We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable professional to lead the Institute for Agriculture. This pivotal role involves managing educational programs, attracting students, delivering courses, and building collaborations with local agricultural enterprises to enhance our agricultural education offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the Admissions Office, Academic Deans, and faculty to attract students to the institute's programs.
  • Engage with local high school agricultural organizations such as Future Farmers of America and 4H.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to effectively promote the institute and its offerings.
  • Partner with Deans and faculty across various disciplines to enrich academic programs with an agricultural perspective.
  • Deliver courses within the Agricultural Institute.
  • Assist in fundraising initiatives for the Institute for Agriculture.
  • Forge partnerships with agricultural businesses and financial institutions to facilitate student internships and collaborative projects.
  • Represent the institution at relevant regional conferences and workshops.
  • Collaborate with community colleges on articulation agreements.
  • Support the recruitment and hiring process for faculty within the Institute.
  • Coordinate with local farmers to provide enriching learning experiences for students.
  • Be adaptable to flexible working hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in agricultural business, education, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in the agricultural sector is preferred.
