As the Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission by leveraging your expertise to oversee and interpret financial data, ensuring precision and compliance. Your efforts will empower us to make informed decisions, optimize financial resources, and drive the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support accounting operations, including financial accounting, accounts payable, receivables, month-end closing, and payroll.
  • Assist in implementing internal controls to mitigate risks associated with accounting functions.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to prepare financial reports in accordance with established accounting principles.
  • Facilitate the payables process to guarantee timely and accurate invoice payments.
  • Manage customer invoicing and track outstanding receivables, ensuring compliance with payment terms.
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve invoicing discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary statements and information for annual audits.
  • Review budget reports and help departments maintain accountability for expenditures.
  • Support payroll processing while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain compliance with workers' compensation insurance requirements and ensure accurate employee classifications.
  • Assist in reconciling corporate credit card transactions and reporting.
  • Oversee invoice management, including verification, approval, and reconciliation processes.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Familiarity with general journal entry practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in construction and/or manufacturing accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience is required.
  • Familiarity with ADP, SAP, QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Experience with job costing is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
