Accounts Receivable Manager

Position Overview:

This role entails the comprehensive management and oversight of all functions within the Accounts Receivable department. The Accounts Receivable Manager will lead credit and collections efforts while collaborating across departments to enhance customer satisfaction and drive operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of accounts receivable, focusing on process optimization and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor team members, ensuring effective talent development and succession planning.
  • Establish team priorities and manage staffing to accommodate time off and workload demands.
  • Evaluate billing and collections processes, recommending procedural enhancements based on best practices.
  • Prepare intercompany invoices and credit memos, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain balanced intercompany accounts at each period-end close.
  • Monitor trends in accounts receivable, payments, and aging by various customer classifications.
  • Develop and enforce A/R policies, adhering to internal controls and approval guidelines.
  • Support new customer setups and manage credit evaluations and limits.
  • Provide collections support to achieve targeted Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Conduct thorough research on customer accounts and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with annual audits and related procedures.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in accounts receivable and collections, preferably within the Medical or Life Sciences sector.
  • At least four years of leadership experience managing teams of four or more.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, with a preference for candidates familiar with SAP.
  • Experience in uploading invoices to relevant platforms is advantageous.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
