Job Overview

The Utah Department of Human Services is seeking a meticulous individual to take on the role of Claims Collection Specialist (Financial Analyst I) within our Financial Management Office.

In this position, you will manage accounts receivable documentation and transactions, providing support to regional offices and claims technicians.

Key Responsibilities
As the Claims Collection Specialist, your responsibilities will encompass: Offering administrative assistance Verifying claims for precision Generating reports Communicating and negotiating bills with insurance providers Assessing incoming payments for collected accounts Contacting insurance firms for updates on collections Facilitating settlement negotiations and collaborating with internal legal teams Engaging with employees for necessary documentation or clarification Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

A minimum of two years of relevant experience in reconciling financial information Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets) Strong written communication abilities Exceptional customer service skills

Completion of higher education coursework in fields such as accounting, finance, business, or other related disciplines may substitute for relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to:
Current employees of the Utah Department of Human Services Experience in collections An Associate's degree or higher in accounting or a related business field. Additional Information
Please note the following details: This role may allow for a combination of in-office and remote work days following an initial training period. Remote work must be conducted within Utah. Eligibility for remote work is determined by agency management and may change at their discretion. Physical Requirements - Generally, the employee can sit comfortably to perform the tasks. However, there may be instances of walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as documents and small equipment. No special physical demands are necessary for this role. Working Conditions - Typical office environment, adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, with safe use of office equipment and adherence to safety regulations.
