Position Overview:

The Accounts Receivable Manager is accountable for the comprehensive oversight and administration of all functions related to Accounts Receivable. This role entails supervising credit and collections processes while collaborating across departments to enhance customer satisfaction and implement process enhancements. The manager will also focus on talent management through mentorship, development, and succession planning. Setting team priorities and managing staffing levels appropriately during absences is essential. This position will oversee the entire Accounts Receivable life cycle, emphasizing opportunities for process optimization, strategic initiatives, and policy efficiencies while minimizing losses, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of ERP systems and the Accounts Receivable function, along with a foundational grasp of debits and credits related to AR.
  • Establish both long-term and short-term objectives, implementing strategies to achieve desired outcomes. Monitor trends in Accounts Receivable, payments, and aging by customer type, risk category, and other relevant factors.
  • Conduct monthly balancing of intercompany accounts.
  • Develop and enforce A/R policies, ensuring adherence to internal controls and guidelines established by BioFire Diagnostics.
  • Process intercompany invoices and credit memos efficiently.
  • Ensure timely input of all invoice submissions in customer portals by the staff.
  • Provide support for new customer setups and assist in resolving customer credit holds, evaluating new customer credit, and maintaining existing credit limits within the approval framework.
  • Balance the necessity of effective credit management with the commercial objectives to drive business revenue.
  • Exhibit strong skills in addressing current issues while offering insights and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Provide collections support as needed to achieve and maintain target Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Demonstrate excellent research capabilities regarding customer accounts.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to provide requested data, fostering a supportive environment through motivation, coaching, and training.
  • Develop and mentor the team to ensure they possess the necessary skills for optimal performance.
  • Assist with annual audits and related interim procedures.
  • Engage in other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required, with a minimum of five years of experience in AR credit and collections, preferably within the Medical/Life Sciences sector.
  • In lieu of a degree, eight years of AR credit and collections experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of four years of leadership experience managing teams of four or more is essential.
  • At least three years of experience with an ERP system is required, with preference given to candidates familiar with SAP.
  • Experience in uploading invoices to WAWF and DFAS is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EDI is advantageous.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications is necessary.
