Position Overview:

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the private client sector, focusing on strategic planning, technical solutions, safety, and operational excellence. This individual will serve as the primary estimator and project manager for significant projects within the region, collaborating closely with the Area Manager or Operations Manager.

This role requires extensive travel, with up to 75% of the time spent on the road, while the remaining time will be spent at our regional office.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years in heavy civil, mechanical, marine, or underwater construction sectors.
  • Advanced understanding of construction contracts, including general and special terms.
  • Proven experience in claims management and dispute resolution.
  • Familiarity with Design-Build, EPC, ECI, CMAR, and other procurement methods.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in software such as HCSS HeavyBid and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to lead and contribute to project opportunities.
  • Skilled in developing internal teams to deliver relevant technical solutions.
  • Experienced in formulating technical proposals, including methods, schedules, and pricing.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze specifications to establish procedures, timelines, and staffing needs for construction phases.
  • Guide supervisory personnel and subcontractors in executing work procedures and coordinating construction phases.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering teams, inspectors, and suppliers to address construction challenges.
  • Identify project risks and recommend mitigation strategies, maintaining a project risk register.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs effectively.
  • Prepare and submit various reports, including project status and cost management reports.

  • Outdoor work in varying conditions.
  • Frequent travel required.
  • Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and prolonged periods of desk work.
