Position Overview:

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in managing our private client portfolio, focusing on planning, technical solutions, safety, and operational excellence. This individual will serve as the primary estimator and project manager for significant projects within the region, providing support to the Area Manager or Operations Manager.

This role involves considerable travel, up to 75%, with a base of operations in a dynamic office environment.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • 7+ years in heavy civil, mechanical, marine, or underwater construction sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, including general and special terms.
  • Proven expertise in claims management and dispute resolution.
  • Experience with various procurement methods such as Design-Build, EPC, ECI, and CMAR.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in software tools like HCSS HeavyBid and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to lead and contribute to project opportunities.
  • Skilled in developing internal teams to deliver relevant technical solutions.
  • Experienced in creating technical proposals, including methodologies, schedules, and pricing.
  • Strong technical writing and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze specifications to plan construction procedures, timelines, and staffing needs.
  • Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors in executing work procedures and coordinating construction phases.
  • Address workforce complaints and grievances through collaboration with supervisory staff.
  • Work with management and engineering teams to resolve construction challenges and enhance methods.
  • Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies, maintaining a risk register.
  • Monitor ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Oversee project costs by approving expenditures and managing subcontractor contracts.
  • Negotiate agreements, draft contracts, and secure necessary permits.
  • Prepare and manage project status reports, analyzing trends and recommending actions.
  • May oversee multiple small projects or a single larger project, depending on company needs.
  • Supervise field engineers, project engineers, and other personnel as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Work outdoors in varying conditions and temperatures.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Travel across various modes of transportation.
  • Engage in physical activities such as lifting, climbing, and prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the year.
