Position Overview:

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting our private client sector through effective planning, innovative technical solutions, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. This individual will serve as the primary estimator and project manager for significant projects within the designated region, providing support to the Area Manager or Operations Manager.

This role requires travel up to 75% of the time, with the remainder based in our regional office.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years in heavy civil, mechanical, marine, or underwater construction sectors.
  • Thorough understanding of construction contracts, including general and specific terms.
  • Proven track record in claims management and dispute resolution.
  • Experience with various procurement methods such as Design-Build, EPC, ECI, and CMAR.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in software applications including HCSS HeavyBid and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to lead and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Skilled in developing internal teams to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Experienced in formulating technical proposals, including methodologies, timelines, and pricing.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess project specifications to devise procedures, timelines, and staffing needs for each construction phase.
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of work processes and adherence to specifications.
  • Engage with management, engineering teams, inspectors, and suppliers to address construction challenges and enhance methodologies.
  • Conduct inspections of ongoing work to verify compliance with specifications and timelines.
  • Manage project risks and maintain a risk register.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all project phases.
  • Oversee project budgets, approving expenditures and managing subcontractor agreements.
  • Prepare and submit various reports, including project status updates and financial summaries.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor work in varying conditions.
  • Travel required, utilizing various modes of transportation.
  • Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and prolonged periods of computer work.
