Lead Sales Account Executive

Position Summary
The Senior Sales Account Manager is responsible for promoting JTEKT's product offerings and capabilities to foster new business opportunities. This role involves coordinating customer initiatives and actions necessary to define, develop, and deliver the required products. Effective communication of business opportunities, challenges, and status updates to JTEKT team members and departments is essential to meet customer expectations and achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture relationships with both potential and existing clients.
- Gather and process Request for Quotation (RFQ) requirements.
- Verify and manage customer purchase orders.
- Engage in routine commercial and technical discussions with automotive manufacturers, including international and service entities.
- Conduct visits to engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing facilities of assigned automotive clients.
- Provide technical support in systematic problem-solving initiatives; collaborate with internal departments and customers as needed.
- Identify, develop, and prepare quotations for new business opportunities or to reflect product design changes.
- Ensure timely preparation of necessary documentation and reports (e.g., NAFTA, AALA, CAFÉ).
- Lead project management efforts to ensure customer timelines are adhered to.
- Negotiate and assist in resolving customer-related issues, including pricing and quality concerns.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, sales forecasts, and marketing materials to effectively grow assigned accounts.
- Monitor product development activities to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Document and report sales results, market trends, and variances as appropriate.
Supervisory Role:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in negotiations with purchasing and engineering departments is preferred.
- Experience with major automotive manufacturers and an understanding of their processes and systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and subsystems (e.g., steering, driveline, vehicle dynamics) is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- High initiative with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
Work Environment:
The work environment is primarily office-based with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The role may require occasional travel, approximately 10-20% of the time.
