As the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, Healogics treats over 300,000 chronic wound patients each year across more than 600 locations. With the increasing prevalence of an aging population, obesity, diabetes, and surgical procedures, the demand for expert care for non-healing wounds is on the rise. Our mission is to extend our high-quality outcomes to as many patients as possible through our outpatient clinic partnerships.

  • Engage actively in staff meetings to enhance key operational functions.
  • Welcome patients and visitors, handling calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Manage patient communication needs, including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders, while coordinating with providers according to the care continuum model.
  • Verify and obtain patient insurance details, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations, and input data into relevant databases.
  • Record and enter patient charges into databases.
  • Reconcile charges as directed, prepare monthly patient survey data, and transmit necessary documentation to providers.
  • Organize new patient charts, maintain existing charts, and conduct spot checks for data accuracy and signatures.
  • Coordinate and schedule ancillary testing with other hospital departments.
  • Arrange transportation for patients as needed.
  • Oversee office equipment and supplies, as well as medical supplies as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); Associate's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of office administration experience, preferably in a healthcare setting; prior medical coding experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Typing speed of 60 words per minute (wpm).
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
