**Position Overview:** The Patient Navigator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our outpatient wound care center. This position encompasses a variety of front office responsibilities and general administrative tasks to assist the wound care center staff.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Collaborates with center leadership to optimize daily patient flow.
  • Engages actively in staff meetings to enhance key operations within the center.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors, managing incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Oversees all patient communication needs, including scheduling and appointment reminders, while coordinating with providers as per the care continuum model.
  • Gathers and confirms patient insurance details, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations, and inputs data into relevant databases.
  • Collects and records patient charges accurately in databases.
  • Verifies and reconciles charges as instructed, compiles monthly patient survey data, and prepares necessary documentation for providers.
  • Organizes new patient charts, maintains existing records, and conducts spot checks for completeness and signatures.
  • Coordinates and schedules ancillary testing with other departments.
  • Arranges transportation for patients as required.
  • Manages office and medical supplies, ensuring equipment is maintained as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare setting; prior experience in medical coding is advantageous.

**Preferred Skills:**

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute.
  • Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Collaborative team player.

The hourly compensation for this role typically ranges from $21.81 to $28.43, based on qualifications such as education, experience, and operational needs.
