Aircraft Structures Technician for E-2D Program

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to support our E-2D program. The primary responsibilities of this role include performing modifications and enhancements on the E-2D aircraft. This encompasses maintenance and technical adjustments to installed components such as plenums, shelves, bulkheads, and penetrations in a field setting.
As this position involves direct interaction with clients, it is essential for the technician to exhibit strong in-person and written communication abilities. Travel requirements may reach up to 50%, depending on client and mission needs. *In addition to base compensation, there are opportunities for significant additional earnings through travel and overtime.*
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen with a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Active or very recent (within the last 18 months) DOD Secret Clearance.
- A minimum of five (5) years of documented experience in heavy structure repair is required. Experience with E-2D is preferred, but other fixed or rotary wing experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with hand tools (including drills, cutters, bucking bars, clecos, and precision measuring instruments) is necessary, along with the ability to perform repairs in accordance with Navy technical publications and drawings.
- Familiarity with tool control and quality management processes is essential.
- Capability to work with necessary protective equipment, such as respirators and fall protection gear.
- Demonstrated effective communication and customer relations skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time based on customer scheduling requirements.
- Flexibility to work first or second shift as dictated by customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the E-2D platform.
- Knowledge of CNAFINST series and DCMAINST 8210 series.
- Prior exposure to Contractor Ground Operating Procedures related to the above references.
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets for various chemicals.
