Job Overview - Aircrew Training Devices Instructor (Rated)

As a key member of our training team, you will be responsible for delivering ground-based and/or aircrew training devices (ATD) instruction to aircraft crewmembers, either individually or in collaboration with pilot instructors. The ACTDIR will evaluate and monitor the training progress of crew-member students, ensuring adherence to the established aircrew training curriculum/ATDs. You will also provide feedback and updates to training policies and procedures, as well as assist in various projects and development tasks as assigned. This Rated Instructor will conduct ATD and other ground training focused on specialized aircraft operations, including diagnosing and addressing student challenges in accordance with the course outline and programmed simulator exercises. Additionally, you will handle administrative and ancillary duties related to training, such as record maintenance, student progress monitoring, counseling, and training program development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate scheduled instructor-led and supported training for Training Device and Systems Training, utilizing both traditional and modern tools such as interactive whiteboards, computers, and video projectors.
  • Assess student training and mission performance as necessary.
  • Evaluate and document trainer performance according to established criteria.
  • Maintain, evaluate, and suggest enhancements to mission scenarios.
  • Review training curriculum and recommend improvements to the training program.
  • Deliver classroom instruction and provide recommendations for enhancement, including tests, lesson plans, and trainee guides in line with current directives.
  • Conduct training device operation instruction as needed, including briefing, debriefing, and assessments.
  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of training devices related to new weapon systems or Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) impacting the training system.
  • Provide academic instruction, including instructor-led lectures for Crew Resource Management (CRM), Instrument Ground School (IGS), and self-paced Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and Computer Based Training (CBT) for required courses.
  • Support training device inspections, certification programs, and other special projects, including mishap recreation and testing.
  • Participate in authorized and scheduled tours as required.
Qualifications:
  • Must achieve instructor certification in the assigned platform(s).
  • Must be eligible for a US Government security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be or have been an E-2 Naval Air Training Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) qualified Naval Flight Officer (NFO) or an E-2 simulator instructor NFO within the last five (5) years. A CIN must have completed at least one (1) fleet tour in the E-2 aircraft, possess a minimum of 800 flying hours in E-2 aircraft, and hold a Bachelor's degree.
  • Candidates must not have any punitive actions on their record that led to the termination of flight status.
