Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is in search of a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to support our E-2D program. The primary responsibilities of the selected candidate will include modifications and enhancements to the E-2D aircraft structures. This role encompasses maintenance and technical alterations to installed components such as plenums, shelves, bulkheads, and penetrations in a field setting.

As this position involves direct interaction with clients, the technician must exhibit strong in-person and written communication abilities. Travel may be required up to 50% based on mission and client needs. *In addition to the base salary, there are opportunities for additional earnings through travel and overtime*

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship with a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Active or very recent (within 18 months) DOD Secret Clearance
  • A minimum of five (5) years of documented experience in heavy structure repair; E-2D experience is preferred, but other fixed or rotary wing experience may be acceptable
  • Proficiency with hand tools including drills, cutters, bucking bars, clecos, and precision measuring instruments, along with the ability to perform repairs according to Navy technical documentation and schematics
  • Familiarity with tool control and quality management processes
  • Capability to work with necessary protective equipment, such as respirators and fall protection
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time based on customer requirements
  • Flexibility to work first or second shift as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the E-2D platform
  • Knowledge of CNAFINST series and DCMAINST 8210 series
  • Prior exposure to Contractor Ground Operating Procedures related to the above references
  • Understanding of Safety Data Sheets for various chemicals
