SAIC is currently seeking an Aerospace Maintenance Technician Assistant for a contingent contract.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be involved in the reclamation of aircraft components, specifically for E-2/C-2 and F/A-18 models, in alignment with the Stricken Aircraft Reclamation and Disposal Program (SARDIP). Your tasks will include:
- Conducting research, packaging, and documentation of aircraft components.
- Facilitating the disassembly, demilitarization, and safe disposal of aircraft structures.
- Assisting in the preparation of aircraft for public display, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Managing the documentation and supply processing for the removal of various aircraft parts, including flight controls, wings, doors, hydraulics, landing gear, and more.
- Participating in the packaging of reclaimed aircraft components.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- General knowledge and experience with standard mechanic's hand tools.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Preferred experience working on the F/A-18 platform.
- A valid Driver's License.
- The capability to work a standard 40-hour week at the designated location.
- A willingness to travel to various DoD air stations as required (up to 25%).
Security Clearance:
The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must have a current National Agency Check or pass FBI Fingerprint/Background checks to obtain necessary access identification cards. US Citizenship is required for this position.
Covid Policy:
SAIC does not mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters; however, compliance with customer site vaccination requirements is necessary when working at those locations.
