SUMMARY:

WR Systems is seeking a skilled Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) Engineer to represent the Navigation Systems In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) in the execution of AIAS repairs, design modifications, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and Field Change upgrades for naval vessels.

The responsibilities of this position encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Designing, modifying, and repairing AN/SRC-40, CV-4095, Alignment Output Boxes (AOB), antennas, and related cabling.
  • Assisting the In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) with technical inquiries regarding AIAS and ILS.
  • Conducting dockside and at-sea evaluations, analyzing gathered data, and identifying as well as resolving installation, technical, and procedural challenges.
  • Offering expertise to address Navigation system interface issues with other onboard systems and aiding in the development and revision of necessary documentation and procedures.
  • Traveling to sponsor locations as a technical representative, performing field tests, interpreting and assessing field data, and acting as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
  • Compiling status, progress, and final reports for projects, detailing the outcomes of field experiments and/or inspections.
  • Initiating, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and operating primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of the project.
  • Verifying the functionality of newly installed equipment and assessing system performance under real operating conditions.
  • Continuously enhancing skills with emerging technologies and systems pertinent to ongoing and anticipated projects.
  • Maintaining and actively seeking improvements to testing procedures and processes for optimal efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Providing oversight and on-the-job training to junior technicians.
  • Contributing insights to project managers for proposals and Statements of Work.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional engineering design experience in one of the following areas:
  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Interface protocols (I/O)
  • Digital design utilizing advanced microprocessors
  • Analog, power, and/or Radio Frequency (RF) design.

Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree based on domain experience and contractual requirements.
