SUMMARY:

WR Systems is seeking a skilled Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) Engineer to support the Navigation Systems In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) in executing AIAS repairs, design modifications, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and Field Change upgrades for naval vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, modify, and repair AN/SRC-40, CV-4095, Alignment Output Boxes (AOB), antennas, and related cabling.
  • Provide technical assistance to the In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) regarding AIAS and ILS inquiries.
  • Conduct dockside and at-sea evaluations, analyze gathered data, and troubleshoot installation, technical, and procedural challenges.
  • Offer expertise to address Navigation system interface concerns with other onboard systems and assist in developing and updating necessary documentation and procedures.
  • Travel to sponsor locations as a technical representative, conduct field tests, interpret field data, and liaise with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
  • Prepare status, progress, and final reports for projects, detailing the outcomes of field experiments and inspections.
  • Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of project objectives.
  • Verify the functionality of newly installed equipment and assess system performance under real operating conditions.
  • Continuously enhance skills with emerging technologies and systems relevant to current and future projects.
  • Maintain and seek improvements to testing procedures and processes for optimal efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Provide oversight and on-the-job training to junior technicians.
  • Contribute insights to project managers for proposals and Statements of Work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional engineering design experience in one of the following areas:
  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Interface protocols (I/O)
  • Digital design utilizing advanced microprocessors
  • Analog, power, and/or Radio Frequency (RF) design.

Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree based on domain experience and contractual requirements.
