General Overview:
Job Summary
The XR Systems division at Qualcomm is on the lookout for a systems architect dedicated to pioneering next-generation technologies and frameworks that will shape the future of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) applications.
The successful candidate will take on responsibilities that may include:1. Analyzing, comprehending, and documenting use cases and implementations associated with AR/VR and similar technologies.
2. Engaging in development and prototyping initiatives for technical workstreams focused on perception, reprojection, and split-processing, with an emphasis on quality validation and latency/quality trade-offs.
3. Contributing to technical workstreams aimed at advancing sensors and displays, optimizing interfaces, and scoping reference designs for XR feature prototyping.
4. Conducting system-level use case modeling to validate and enhance architectural definitions.
5. Establishing requirements for custom hardware accelerators and general-purpose compute cores tailored for XR features, flows, and workloads.
6. Executing hardware-software feature analysis to optimize power consumption and performance.
This multidisciplinary role is best suited for a candidate with demonstrated expertise in AR/VR, computer vision, machine learning, perception, camera technology, hardware design, SoC architecture, hardware/software partitioning, and/or system modeling (including power, performance, and thermal aspects).
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, along with project experience in architecture or micro-architecture.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Experience in designing mixed and augmented reality systems, including understanding constraints and trade-offs.
- Extensive knowledge of graphics pipelines, reprojection techniques, advanced rendering methods, computer vision pipelines, machine learning approaches, and camera pipelines.
- Proven track record in conducting architectural trade-offs, power/performance analysis, and hardware/software trade-offs.
- Experience with system-level modeling (performance and/or power).
- At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the aforementioned areas.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
