Role Summary:
We are currently seeking skilled Aerospace Coating Specialists to join our team in a dynamic and evolving work environment. This role involves working with a company renowned for its innovative designs and manufacturing of military aircraft, business jets, and space systems.
As an Aerospace Coating Specialist, your responsibilities will include preparing surfaces for coating, mixing and applying various paint products, all while adhering to allocated timeframes and maintaining high-quality standards. You will also be expected to perform your duties in compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify products/components by customer specifications and color codes.
- Efficiently transport products/components within the work area.
- Handle loading and unloading of products/components from pallets, carts, and machinery.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of the procedures for preparing surfaces prior to coating.
- Utilize the shipping schedule or computer systems to manage scheduled shipments.
- Operate various machines involved in the coating process effectively.
- Individually and collaboratively apply topcoat paint to aircraft, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft coating, consistently delivering high-quality topcoat applications.
- Ability to interpret designs or verbal instructions for layout tasks.
- Familiarity with manufacturer standards and company protocols regarding aluminum care and treatment.
- Proficient in using standard painting equipment, including buffers, spray guns, sanding tools, and hand tools.
- Physical capability to walk, climb, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to repeatedly ascend and descend scaffolding, ladders, and related equipment.
- Physical dexterity to kneel or stand for prolonged periods during painting and sanding tasks.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- No significant allergies to paint, solvents, or related products that may produce fumes or dust.
- Willingness to wear a respirator and successfully complete a pulmonary function test.
