General Overview:
We are seeking a skilled systems architect to join our XR Systems team, focusing on the development of cutting-edge technologies and frameworks that will shape the future of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) applications.
The successful candidate will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1. Analyzing, understanding, and documenting various use cases and implementations of AR/VR technologies.
2. Leading development and prototyping initiatives for technical workstreams, particularly in areas such as perception, reprojection, and split-processing, while ensuring quality validation and managing latency/quality trade-offs.
3. Contributing to technical efforts aimed at advancing sensor and display technologies, optimizing interfaces, and scoping reference designs for XR feature prototyping.
4. Engaging in system-level use case modeling to validate and enhance architectural definitions.
5. Establishing requirements for custom hardware accelerators and general-purpose compute cores tailored for XR functionalities and workflows.
6. Conducting hardware-software feature analyses to optimize power consumption and performance metrics.
The ideal candidate for this multidisciplinary role will possess extensive expertise in AR/VR, computer vision, machine learning, perception technologies, camera systems, hardware design, SoC architecture, and system modeling (including power, performance, and thermal considerations).
Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, along with relevant project experience in architecture or micro-architecture.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering or a closely related field.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
• Experience in the design of Mixed and Augmented Reality systems, including an understanding of constraints and trade-offs.
• In-depth knowledge of graphics pipelines, reprojection techniques, advanced rendering methods, computer vision workflows, machine learning approaches, and camera systems.
• Proven track record in conducting architectural trade-offs, power/performance evaluations, and hardware-software trade-offs.
• Experience in system-level modeling, focusing on performance and/or power metrics.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Educational Requirements:
• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Master's or Doctorate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering.
• OR a Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• OR a PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
