Nutanix is on the lookout for a talented systems architect to join our XR Systems team, focusing on pioneering technologies and frameworks that will shape the future of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) applications.

The ideal candidate will take on responsibilities that include:
1. Analyzing, comprehending, and documenting various use cases and implementations related to AR/VR technologies.
2. Engaging in development and prototyping initiatives across technical streams for perception, reprojection, and split-processing, ensuring quality validation and balancing latency with quality.
3. Contributing to technical efforts aimed at enhancing sensor and display technologies, optimizing interfaces, and scoping reference designs for XR feature prototyping.
4. Modeling system-level use cases to validate and refine architectural definitions.
5. Establishing requirements for custom hardware accelerators and general-purpose compute cores tailored for XR functionalities and workflows.
6. Conducting HW-SW feature analyses to enhance power efficiency and performance.

This multi-disciplinary position requires a candidate with proven expertise in AR/VR, computer vision, machine learning, perception, camera technologies, hardware design, SoC architecture, HW/SW partitioning, and system modeling (power, performance, thermal).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, along with project experience in architecture or micro-architecture.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Experience in designing mixed and augmented reality systems, understanding constraints and trade-offs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of graphics pipelines, reprojection techniques, advanced rendering methods, computer vision processes, and machine learning applications.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting architectural trade-offs, power/performance assessments, and SW-HW interactions.
- Familiarity with system-level modeling for performance and power.
- At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the aforementioned areas.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Educational Requirements:

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Preferred:
Master's or Doctorate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field.

OR a Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field.

OR a PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field.
