Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Risk Specialist to be based at our Capenhurst site. This role is pivotal in managing risk across various operations and business units, ensuring safety, continuity, and performance align with the Urenco enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Register Management: Develop and oversee a comprehensive Risk Register, ensuring integration within the Urenco ERM framework and maintaining functional risk registers.
  • Framework Implementation: Lead the deployment of the risk register framework, conducting risk surveys, coordinating site and functional risk registers, and coaching managers on risk management practices.
  • Risk Monitoring: Establish a program for periodic updates to actively manage risks and drive improvements, maintaining a real-time view of business risks.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Review periodic risk assessments to generate insights and recommendations for site-wide enhancements, providing comprehensive reports for senior management.
  • Business Continuity: Develop objectives to ensure resilience against potential disruptions, maintaining operational integrity.
  • Performance Indicators: Create and monitor indicators that objectively assess risk management performance, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Actively promote a robust safety culture, ensuring alignment with the highest safety standards.

Collaboration and Engagement:
Work closely with various teams, including Audit and Organisational Learning, to assess risks and provide insights into the risk landscape. Engage with the global risk community to share knowledge and align practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with professional qualifications or significant experience in risk management.
  • Desirable: Enterprise Risk Management certification.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and proven experience in risk management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a background in regulated industries.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly.
