Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Risk Specialist to be based at our Capenhurst location. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the effective management of risk throughout the site’s operations and business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Register Management: Develop and oversee a comprehensive Risk Register for Capenhurst, ensuring its integration within the broader Urenco Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Risk Framework Implementation: Spearhead the execution of the risk register framework across the organization, which includes conducting risk assessments and coaching management on risk documentation.
  • Risk Monitoring and Improvement: Establish a program for periodic updates to ensure active risk management and drive continuous improvements.
  • Risk Analysis and Reporting: Analyze periodic risk assessment outcomes to provide insights and recommendations for site-wide enhancements, along with generating reports for senior management.
  • Business Continuity: Formulate and manage business continuity objectives to safeguard the site against potential disruptions.
  • Performance Indicators: Develop and track performance metrics that provide an objective assessment of risk management effectiveness.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Advocate for a robust safety culture, ensuring that risk management practices align with the highest safety standards.

Collaboration and Engagement:
Work collaboratively with various teams, including the Audit and Organisational Learning Specialists, to evaluate current findings and associated risks. Engage with the global risk community to share knowledge and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with professional qualifications or substantial experience in risk management.
  • Desirable: Certification in Enterprise Risk Management (e.g., Institute of Risk Management).
  • Proficient in MS Excel and experienced in managing risk registers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as energy, chemicals, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the legislative framework relevant to our operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts effectively.
