Position Overview

Primal Pet Group is on the lookout for a dynamic and dedicated individual to enhance our presence in the Northeast US Market, which encompasses states such as New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This role is pivotal in boosting the retail availability, visibility, endorsement, and consumption of Primal Pet Group products within a designated area.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prospect and cultivate new business opportunities at both retail and distributor levels.
  2. Establish and nurture a robust network of relationships with retailers, distributor personnel, and market influencers to maximize your impact.
  3. Open new retail accounts and expand the product assortment of Primal Pet Group offerings at existing locations.
  4. Conduct training sessions for both new and existing retail accounts, focusing on the features and benefits of Primal Pet Group products and how to effectively recommend them to consumers.
  5. Identify and train at least one retail associate per location to become an in-store expert on Primal brands.
  6. Utilize distributor resources, including sales personnel, to enhance market influence, execute effective promotional placements, and drive initial product trials.
  7. Ensure adequate distributor inventory levels and confirm retailer satisfaction with distribution partners.
  8. Identify and participate in key retailer and community events, leveraging the Primal Demo Team.
  9. Manage available resources efficiently to achieve optimal results.

Essential Qualifications

  • Familiarity with brands and products in the Pet Food Industry.
  • Prior sales experience in the Pet or Natural Foods sector is preferred.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to listen attentively and respond appropriately to inquiries.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in budget management and detail-oriented.
  • Goal-driven with a proven track record of success.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the Northeast US market.
  • Availability to work nontraditional hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
  • Applicants must reside in the State of New York or Pennsylvania.
