Job Overview

NORTHWEST SURGICAL is a leading orthopedic and neurosurgical practice dedicated to providing exceptional care in the Portland-Vancouver region. With over 50 years of experience, we are committed to delivering outstanding service to our patients through a variety of specialized services including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, and physical therapy.

We are currently seeking a part-time Patient Services Representative to join our Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Call-Center. This role is essential in ensuring that patient information is accurately gathered and entered into our practice management system for effective clinical messaging and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the booking, coordination, and rescheduling of patient appointments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Communicate necessary messages to staff through the patient chart.
  • Monitor call abandonment rates to minimize wait times and ensure patients are attended to promptly.
  • Keep physician schedules updated and accurate.
  • Handle incoming calls, screen inquiries, take messages, and provide relevant information.
  • Address questions related to patient appointments and testing procedures.
  • Ensure physician schedules comply with designated protocol standards.
  • Assist with the daily rescheduling process.
  • Participate in required meetings.
  • Uphold a high level of confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in customer service or a medical office setting preferred.
  • Proficient in managing a multi-line phone system.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adept at analyzing and resolving complex patient situations.
  • Ability to multitask while utilizing various software applications.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
