Lawton Standard is seeking a Lead Maintenance Coordinator. This role serves as the primary electrician and furnace technician, ensuring effective upkeep and prompt repairs in these vital sectors.

The Coordinator will also focus on the development and training of maintenance personnel.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee assigned projects and manage team members involved.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take charge of maintaining the electrical systems
Establish and enforce a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule
Analyze breakdowns, identify root causes, and devise and implement repair strategies
Maintain a stock of essential electrical components; collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to ensure availability
Engage with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, direct work, and monitor compliance with our standards
Contribute to the collective knowledge base by sharing experiences back into the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and electrician training processes.

Provide leadership for all matters related to the integrated organization's electrical systems, from daily operations and maintenance to vendor meetings and high-level discussions regarding capacities, capabilities, and capital.

Take the lead in maintaining furnaces
Establish and enforce a detailed preventive maintenance schedule; review and assess PMs and inspection reports completed by furnace operators
Analyze breakdowns, identify root causes, and devise and implement repair strategies
Maintain a stock of critical spare parts; collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to ensure availability
Engage with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, direct work, and monitor compliance with our standards
Contribute to the collective knowledge base by sharing experiences back into the TPM, PM, and furnace technician training processes.

Provide leadership for all matters related to the furnaces, from daily operations and maintenance to vendor meetings and high-level discussions regarding capacities, capabilities, and capital.

Play a pivotal role in enhancing the maintenance crew's skills and technical expertise to ensure proficiency in the operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, equipment, and support systems.
In collaboration with the Maintenance Superintendent, develop a list of essential skills required for maintenance staff.
Assess current skill sets and identify gaps between existing and required skills.
Create a training plan for each maintenance crew member, detailing skills to be developed, training methods, budget, and timeline.
Provide necessary training (and re-training) or secure and manage external training resources.
Work with the Human Resources department to document the training completed by each maintenance crew member.
Continuously evaluate training plans and programs for maximum effectiveness in achieving stated goals and objectives.

Collaborate with foundry production workers, department Supervisors, and Maintenance staff to analyze equipment and system breakdowns, determine root causes, and establish necessary corrective actions.

Offer insights and recommendations based on experience and expertise for all inquiries and projects related to the foundry's facilities, equipment, and support systems.
Provide advice and support on electrical matters to the machine shop and pattern shop.
Other responsibilities as assigned.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education :
High school diploma required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience :
A minimum of ten years of maintenance experience in an iron foundry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
Knowledge:
Expert-level understanding of electric furnaces and iron foundry electrical systems.
Expert-level knowledge of the proper operation, repair, and maintenance of iron foundry facilities, equipment, and support systems.
Strong knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Preventive Maintenance, and related maintenance management concepts.
Working knowledge of information systems required to perform the job.
Skills:
Highly developed problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues promptly.
Advanced root cause analysis skills.
Strong project management abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in relation to maintenance staff training.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance.

The employee may occasionally need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
