About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatics Operations Coordinator to join our team at the City of Shoreview, MN. As a key member of our aquatics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our aquatic facilities, including Tropics and Bamboo Bay indoor water parks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aquatics Operations Management
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of our aquatic facilities, including pool maintenance, water chemistry, and equipment maintenance.
    • Develop and implement operational procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of our patrons.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and deliver training programs for lifeguards, waterslide attendants, and other aquatic staff.
    • Ensure all staff members are properly trained and certified to meet industry standards.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to our patrons, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
    • Ensure that all customer interactions are positive and respectful.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Manage the scheduling of staff, including lifeguards, waterslide attendants, and other aquatic staff.
    • Prepare and submit reports on aquatic operations, including pool maintenance, water chemistry, and staff training.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience
    • One year of customer service experience required.
    • 6 months of experience leading aquatics training, CPR and First Aid classes, teen programs, or a teaching license required.
  • Certifications
    • NSPF certified pool operator within 6 months of hire required.
    • Lifeguard certification (Ellis and Associates, Red Cross, or Star Guard) within 6 months of hire required.
    • Lifeguard instructor certification (Ellis and Associates, Red Cross, or Star Guard) within 6 months to 1 year of hire required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Experience
    • CivicRec Recreation Software experience preferred.
    • UKG advanced scheduling experience preferred.
  • Medical Background
    • EMT or other medical background preferred.
Work Environment

The work is performed indoors. Employee is frequently required to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, lift, push, pull, pick, pinch, grasp, feel, talk, hear and use repetitive motion of the hands, wrists and/or fingers. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs. Noise, Fumes, odors, Temperature extremes: Chlorine (gas & granular fumes), muriatic acid, excessive noise when bamboo bay air compressor is running, air temperature and humidity degrees.
