Position Summary:

The Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) plays a pivotal role in cultivating and overseeing strategic partnerships with essential suppliers throughout North America, ensuring a dependable and consistent supply chain. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement in North America, we are in search of a proactive individual equipped with exceptional interpersonal and leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will focus on enhancing supplier performance, spearheading cost optimization initiatives, and generating added value for Harsco Environmental, Procurement, and our preferred suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with key suppliers, serving as the primary liaison for all supplier-related matters.
  • Oversee the supplier performance management process, which includes performance assessments, goal setting, and corrective action strategies.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Asset Management, and other relevant departments to identify and execute supplier enhancement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure adherence to company standards and legal obligations.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers, securing favorable terms and conditions.
  • Identify and cultivate new supplier partnerships to address evolving business requirements.
  • Proactively manage potential risks and disruptions within the supply chain, collaborating with suppliers to mitigate these challenges.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in supplier relationship management.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier relationship management or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing strong supplier relationships.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with supplier performance management systems and tools.
  • Understanding of contract law and procurement regulations.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
