Position Summary:

The Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) plays a pivotal role in cultivating and overseeing strategic partnerships with essential suppliers throughout North America, ensuring a dependable and consistent supply chain. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement in North America, we are in search of a proactive individual with exceptional interpersonal and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will focus on improving supplier performance, spearheading cost optimization initiatives, and generating added value for Harsco Environmental, Procurement, and our esteemed suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with key suppliers, serving as the primary liaison for all supplier-related matters.
  • Oversee the supplier performance management process, encompassing performance assessments, goal establishment, and corrective action strategies.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Asset Management, and other relevant departments to identify and execute supplier enhancement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure adherence to company standards and legal obligations.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers, securing favorable terms and conditions.
  • Identify and cultivate new supplier relationships to align with evolving business requirements.
  • Proactively address potential risks and supply chain disruptions, partnering with suppliers to mitigate these challenges.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in supplier relationship management.
  • Implement and sustain effective communication channels with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier relationship management or a comparable role.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing and managing strong supplier relationships.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with supplier performance management systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of contract law and procurement regulations.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
