The role necessitates a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices. The selected candidate will support inventory management, cash flow oversight, and the reconciliation of balance sheets and bank statements.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and the general ledger framework.
- Assist in daily accounting operations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including sub-ledgers, and investigate discrepancies, proposing necessary adjusting journal entries.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify and address unusual fluctuations, communicating findings to senior management promptly.
- Manage intercompany accounting transactions.
- Engage in the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Apply accounting principles and execute financial controls to ensure adherence to SOX regulations.
- Provide audit deliverables and liaise with internal and external audit teams to implement best practices.
- Assist in managing lease accounting guidelines in collaboration with Corporate Accounting, utilizing lease software applications.
- Complete special projects and various reporting requests from key business partners, including internal, divisional, and corporate teams.
- Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Desired: Advanced degree in accounting/finance (MBA or Master's) or certification (CPA/CMA). - Experience
Minimum of three to four years of combined public and corporate accounting experience. - Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with internal controls and SOX compliance.
- Experience with ERP and reporting software, preferably Oracle, and proficiency in MS Office products, particularly advanced Excel skills (V-lookup, Pivot Tables).
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a rapid month-end closing schedule.
- Interpersonal Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all organizational levels. - Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Technical Skills
Ability to analyze general ledger accounts and determine appropriate accounting treatment for transactions. - Strong mathematical skills.
- Other Skills
Proficient in planning and organizing tasks. - Travel Requirements
Minimal travel (less than 10%).
