Role Summary:
Director of Revenue Cycle Management
We are seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle Management who possesses a deep understanding of best practices in health plan billing and accounts receivable management, and is eager to thrive in a dynamic, startup environment. This role will leverage expertise to enhance Hazel's distinctive clinical delivery model and establish new processes as we expand, including spearheading our ongoing technological advancements in revenue cycle management.
The Director will oversee the timely and precise submission, processing, and payment recording of Hazel's health plan claims to various payers, including state Medicaid programs, Managed Medicaid, and Commercial and Government entities. This position will ensure optimal revenue cycle performance through strategic planning, analysis, and ongoing quality and productivity enhancements within the team. The Director will be accountable for key revenue cycle metrics and will foster a collaborative atmosphere among both internal and external stakeholders. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement strategies, processes, and technologies to enhance the Revenue Cycle, focusing on increasing claim processing efficiency, minimizing denials, reducing accounts receivable days, and maximizing collections.
- Monitor and report on critical Revenue Cycle metrics regularly, including Accounts Receivable, claim processing speed, rejections, denials, and team productivity.
- Act as the subject matter expert for all health plan billing, coding, and revenue collection processes.
- Lead the Billing team to ensure aligned priorities, high productivity, quality outcomes, and achievement of company-wide objectives.
- Serve as the superuser and administrator for the billing system, overseeing enhancements and new feature developments.
- Identify and spearhead both internal and cross-functional strategic and process improvements to enhance scalability, efficiency, and accuracy of revenue cycle processes.
- Conduct data analysis to uncover key trends, quality improvement areas, and opportunities for increased revenue capture.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate cross-functionally with executives and peers throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.
- Experience with multi-state Medicaid and commercial billing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of pediatric care delivery, particularly regarding state Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care organizations.
- Experience in implementing and managing electronic revenue cycle management systems.
- Familiarity with telehealth/virtual care and mental health revenue cycle management.
Additional Information:
This role may require occasional travel. Total compensation is competitive, including a base salary, bonus potential, 401k match, healthcare coverage, paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package.
