Job Overview

The OEM Sales Manager plays a crucial role in achieving designated objectives linked to the overall success of the hotel. This individual will be tasked with effectively identifying and securing new business opportunities. Collaborating closely with the Director of Sales, the OEM Sales Manager will strive to meet the revenue and market share targets for one or more properties. The sales focus may differ based on the specific property to which the associate is assigned (e.g., Leisure, Business Travel, Group, SMERF).

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; prior experience in hotel sales is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license for the applicable state is necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for negotiating, persuading, selling, and influencing other managerial personnel, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
  • Experience in professional selling techniques is desired, including skills in opening, probing, supporting, and closing.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products, is required.
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously is crucial; strong organizational and presentation skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets, as well as solicitation call objectives.
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, lead sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and/or Groups as applicable.
  • Enhance existing relationships with assigned accounts related to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and/or Groups.
  • Monitor and assess trends within your market segment.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to established regulations, company standards, sales standards, and metrics.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and policies across relevant departments.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the local community and industry organizations.
  • Assist in the implementation of special promotions related to direct sales segments, such as sales blitzes.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, along with any other functions as required by management.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales.
