Our leading publication, War on the Rocks, caters to a dedicated audience keen on strategy, defense, and international relations. Since its inception in 2013, War on the Rocks has aimed to enhance discussions on pivotal strategic matters by showcasing authoritative perspectives through articles, essays, and podcasts. Our membership initiative, introduced in 2017, has seen remarkable expansion.

Moreover, Metamorphic Media collaborates with the University of Texas at Austin to produce the Texas National Security Review, a scholarly journal dedicated to academic excellence and innovative concepts.

Key Responsibilities of the President

  • Work closely with CEO/founder Ryan Evans and the team to align organizational practices with strategic objectives
  • Direct strategic planning and implementation
  • Oversee all operational activities while ensuring alignment with the company’s mission
  • Maintain the foundational vision of War on the Rocks
  • Foster a positive and innovative workplace culture
  • Identify and pursue new avenues for revenue enhancement
  • Enhance and manage the organization’s technological infrastructure
  • Lead financial planning and budgeting processes
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and clients
  • Develop and mentor a successful executive team
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and adapt strategies as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess the right to work in the United States
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the Washington, DC metro area
  • Demonstrated experience in management roles within the private sector, emphasizing team success
  • Strong financial insight and strategic analytical skills
  • Background in defense and national security sectors
  • Experience in crisis management and technology integration initiatives
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain professional networks
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in the media sector
  • Proven track record of business scaling
