The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is dedicated to enhancing the fiscal integrity and accountability of the Government of the District of Columbia. We are currently seeking a Budget Analyst who will play a crucial role in the formulation, justification, monitoring, and improvement of budgetary processes within their designated agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the precision of budget submissions, conduct detailed analyses of specific financial programs and initiatives, and provide insightful recommendations alongside accurate budget forecasts.
  • Collaborate with program managers and financial teams to gather essential information that supports sustainable justifications for budget requests.
  • Oversee the allocation of budgets for assigned program operations, ensuring expenditures align with program objectives, meet established criteria, and comply with regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing oversight of the approved funds' utilization within the program.
  • Create guidance and tools that enhance the department's capacity for effective budget formulation, execution assessments, and strategic planning.
  • Evaluate the implications of revised budget execution policies and timelines, offering direction to program management regarding fund status and related issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive budgetary documentation, including tables, reports, letters, and memoranda.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications: A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in roles involving budget formulation, justification, monitoring, coordination, and approval, as well as preparing reports and analyses related to funding.
