Position: Budget Analyst

Salary: $115,094.00

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is dedicated to promoting the financial integrity and accountability of the District of Columbia. We are currently seeking a Budget Analyst who will play a crucial role in the development, justification, and oversight of budgetary processes within designated agency departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the precision of budget submissions, conducting detailed analyses of specific financial programs and initiatives, and providing insightful recommendations along with accurate budget forecasts.
  • Collaborate with program directors and financial teams to gather essential data that supports robust justifications for budget requests.
  • Monitor the expenditure of assigned program budgets to ensure alignment with established objectives, compliance with regulations, and effective use of resources.
  • Maintain ongoing supervision of the approved budgetary allocations for programs.
  • Create and disseminate tools and guidance to enhance the department's capabilities in budget formulation, execution, and strategic planning.
  • Evaluate the implications of updated budget execution policies and timelines, offering advice to program management regarding fund status and related issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive budgetary documentation, including reports, tables, letters, and memoranda.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in budget formulation, justification, monitoring, coordination, and approval, as well as in preparing reports and analyses related to funding.
