Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Coordinator with expertise in home improvement, building, and remodeling. This role is ideal for a contractor looking to transition into a supervisory position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of construction professionals, managing work schedules, project timelines, and resource distribution.
  • Prepare detailed cost assessments for labor, materials, and other project-related expenses.
  • Work closely with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to establish budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment with suppliers and vendors.
  • Develop work schedules for team members and subcontractors.
  • Recruit additional subcontractors and allocate tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a daily log of job site activities, providing reports to management as required.
  • Adjust operations as necessary to meet construction deadlines effectively.
  • Implement cost-effective and efficient management strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Exceptional communication skills, including proficiency in writing, speaking, and active listening.
  • Strong understanding of construction budgeting practices.
  • Excellent planning abilities, encompassing design execution, resource management, and contingency planning.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, including safe operating procedures and maintenance indicators.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
  • Proficient problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective leadership skills, including motivation, goal-setting, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking.

Education and Training:
Candidates may qualify for this position with a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by relevant on-the-job training and certifications. Many successful candidates hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Construction Manager or Certified Professional Constructor are also advantageous.

Experience Requirements:
This supervisory role requires candidates to have several years of experience in the construction industry. Previous managerial experience within a construction team is highly beneficial. Many candidates have backgrounds as construction workers, designers, engineers, or planners, and have progressed through various roles, gaining additional responsibilities and leadership opportunities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 per year
