Role Summary
As the Lead Project Engineer - Water Resources and Compliance, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of stormwater management systems, open channel projects, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling. You will also be responsible for the preparation of necessary regulatory permit applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and submit permits for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Conduct Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) analyses, stormwater design, and open-channel flow assessments, with a strong understanding of stormwater management regulations.
  • Ensure timely completion of assignments while adhering to project budgets.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients to discuss progress and requirements.
  • Maintain a commitment to continuous learning to stay updated on evolving State and Federal regulations.
  • Embrace a variety of engineering challenges to enhance professional growth.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with excellent writing skills.
  • Design site plans in accordance with project specifications.
  • Follow internal standards, policies, and procedures diligently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 5-10 years of experience in environmental assessment, investigation, and remediation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS software.
  • Familiarity with NJDEP, ACOE, and NYDEC regulations is essential.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience in designing Green Infrastructure Best Management Practices (BMPs) for stormwater management.
  • Prior experience in this field is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong communication skills, particularly in report writing.
  • Experience with H&H Modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, SWMM) is preferred.
