Role Summary

We are currently seeking skilled Substation Design Engineers to support our Electric Utility Clients. Key Responsibilities:
As a Substation Design Engineer, your primary duties will include:
- Designing medium, high, and extra high voltage substations to ensure safe and reliable operation of transmission and distribution systems.
- Reviewing and modifying specifications for substation equipment and materials, providing design solutions, and supporting construction or retrofit projects.
- Collaborating with peers in project planning, management, and site coordination to ensure timely project completion.
- Offering technical support to clients, including participation in kickoff meetings, engineering reviews, and resolution of complex project issues.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering license (PE) is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in designing Utility T&D substations with oversight of design work.
- Training in Substation Safety Access.
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD 3D.
- Strong understanding of NESC, IEEE Substation, and High Voltage Equipment standards.
- Transmission Relaying Protection & Control Design.
- Substation Layout and General Arrangement.
- Preparation of Major Equipment Specifications and Bill of Materials.
- Design of Specifications and Control Houses.
- AC & DC Station Service Calculations.
- Substation Ground Grid Analysis and Design.
- Lightning Protection Design.
- Coordination with various engineering disciplines.
- Leadership in Feasibility Studies and post-project reviews.
