Position Summary
The Appointment Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and organizing patient appointments for various medical services, while also performing essential clerical tasks associated with these services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage scheduling to avoid conflicts for patients.
  • Provide accurate input to ensure booking guides, physician availability, and other critical data are correct.
  • Verify data accuracy by checking and correcting information in statistical reports.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of rooms and scheduling times.
  • Report discrepancies and omissions to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Collaborate with Medical Records to maintain the accuracy of statistics and demographic data.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports to relevant interdepartmental staff.
  • Handle incoming calls and utilize computer systems for appointment management.
  • Review patient documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • May oversee the processing of surgery-related billing and perioperative charges, ensuring all entries are accurate prior to processing.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary equipment, supplies, and rooms for procedures.
  • Identify and address the specific needs of the patient population served, tailoring care accordingly (considering age, culture, language, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and caregivers at their level of understanding.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the standards outlined in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to address basic issues and challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
