Job Overview

Position: Medical Receptionist at a Neurology Practice

Employment Type: Temp-to-perm

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients, clients, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Identify the purpose of visits and guide individuals to the appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Support patients in completing necessary documentation, including insurance forms.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Document and relay messages accurately, ensuring effective communication.
  • Schedule appointments while verifying patient information and informing them of required documentation.
  • Coordinate hospital admissions, tests, and external appointments for patients.
  • Check patients in and out for their scheduled visits.
  • Facilitate patient flow by notifying healthcare providers of arrivals and delays.
  • Request external medical reports as needed for patient care.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Keep waiting areas and front-desk environments organized and welcoming.
  • Inform patients of any outstanding balances and prepare them for payments due at the time of service.
  • Confirm upcoming appointments through daily outreach to patients.
  • Verify payment methods and collect necessary data or payments.
  • Handle co-payments and other financial transactions.
  • Manage documentation processes, including faxing, scanning, and filing.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and manage incoming correspondence.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address patient concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Maintain office supply inventory.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
