Join a Pioneering Organization

Imagine being part of a company that not only creates but also resources and develops life sciences ventures that innovate groundbreaking technologies aimed at transforming healthcare.

The Challenge

In the current healthcare landscape, diagnosing diseases frequently involves invasive methods, such as biopsies, which allow for direct examination of cellular and tissue health at the suspected disease site. These procedures, however, are often costly, inconvenient, and typically performed only after symptoms arise, posing significant challenges to early intervention when it is most beneficial.

About the Company

Flagship Labs 103, Inc. is an emerging enterprise focused on constructing advanced technological and computational frameworks to revolutionize the detection of cellular dynamics from minimally invasive biospecimens. Our goal is to connect individuals with the most effective interventions to avert the onset and progression of diseases.

Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled computational biologist to join our innovative biotech team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive scientist eager to develop cutting-edge techniques that advance the detection of cellular dynamics from minimally invasive biospecimens. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the foundational development of our groundbreaking bioplatform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop computational strategies to analyze and contextualize signals from extracellular vesicles derived from human biospecimens.
  • Perform multi-omic analyses on human biospecimens and associated datasets.
  • Gather, assess, and utilize public data to explore early disease transitions from minimally invasive biospecimens.
  • Assist in the design and analysis of data from cellular biology experiments to validate key hypotheses.
  • Stay updated with scientific literature to maintain technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and external partners.
  • Effectively communicate experimental findings through presentations and written reports, ensuring clarity for the team.
  • Lead, mentor, and help build a computational team.

Qualifications

  • PhD in computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or related fields with 2-4 years of industry or postdoctoral experience.
  • Proficient in providing standard and advanced computational support for wet-lab experimental design.
  • Hands-on experience with modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Understanding of NGS methodologies and a proven ability to collaborate with experimental biologists.
  • Experience in analyzing -omics data using programming languages like R or Python.
  • Familiarity with statistical inference and machine learning techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting scientific data.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and inquisitive.
  • Passionate about playing a key role in establishing a new biotech venture.
