About the Role

The Broad Institute is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Leader in Computational Biology to lead and direct investigations into the mechanisms of host microbiome interactions in health and disease.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute collaborative studies to advance our understanding of host microbiome interactions
  • Develop and implement novel computational methods for analyzing large multi-omic datasets
  • Mentor and supervise scientists at various levels, including postdoctoral researchers and staff scientists
  • Write and publish research papers, grants, and reports
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest computational tools and methods

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
  • 4-5 years of postdoctoral experience in computational biology or equivalent industrial experience
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proficiency in one or more statistical or scripting languages, such as R or Python
  • Familiarity with functional genetic and/or genomic data, as indicated by a strong publication record
  • Ability to clearly communicate scientific material and work collaboratively
