About the Role
The Broad Institute is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Leader in Computational Biology to lead and direct investigations into the mechanisms of host microbiome interactions in health and disease.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute collaborative studies to advance our understanding of host microbiome interactions
- Develop and implement novel computational methods for analyzing large multi-omic datasets
- Mentor and supervise scientists at various levels, including postdoctoral researchers and staff scientists
- Write and publish research papers, grants, and reports
- Stay up-to-date with the latest computational tools and methods
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- 4-5 years of postdoctoral experience in computational biology or equivalent industrial experience
- Experience managing or mentoring a team with demonstrated leadership skills
- Proficiency in one or more statistical or scripting languages, such as R or Python
- Familiarity with functional genetic and/or genomic data, as indicated by a strong publication record
- Ability to clearly communicate scientific material and work collaboratively

The Infectious Disease and Microbiome Program (IDMP) is an interdisciplinary team with expertise in computational analysis, microbiology, and immunology. We are seeking a creative and highly motivated individual who wants to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary research environment.
