Overview:
Our client, a government organization, is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to support their Safety, Security, and Training Department.

Role Summary:
The Safety & Security Project Coordinator will allocate their time equally between collaborating with District Safety and Security personnel and assisting the Director of Safety and Security in preparing executive reports and conducting analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Business Science Unit and external vendors to enhance the Safety Management System data collection software, Vector Solutions (formerly Industry Safe).
- Process and evaluate safety-related data gathered from various departments within the district.
- Identify trends and patterns in safety-related information to propose mitigation strategies and initiatives based on identified safety concerns.
- Develop a comprehensive repository of safety information within the SMS System.
- Create data models to assess the performance and quality of the safety program, ensuring compliance with business standards.
- Potentially chair safety committees, including the PTASP committee.
- Recommend solutions to address business challenges.
- Lead or participate in safety-focused working groups.

Administrative Support:
- Assist the Director of Safety and Security with all executive administrative tasks, including preparing staff reports, presentations, written plans, policies, and procedures.
- Act as the administrative project manager for all safety and security initiatives and projects.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.

Qualifications:
- Experience in developing requirements for databases, data collection systems, and data analytics to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Proficient in interpreting data and analyzing results using statistical techniques to generate ongoing reports.
- Capable of presenting data models and trend analyses to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data and make operational recommendations based on key safety and performance metrics (accidents, incidents, near misses, leading and lagging indicators).

Safety Commitment:
- Perform all duties in a manner that prioritizes safety for oneself, colleagues, and the public.
- Promote safety awareness and adhere to safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of two years of full-time experience in a data analysis role utilizing tools such as MS Excel, R, Python, etc.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Candidates must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Tableau, Origami Risk, Industry Safe/Vector Solutions, Python, and data visualization tools or other project management and data analytic software.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs, if necessary.
- Capability to sit for extended periods and walk/stand for moderate durations.
- Frequent bending at the knees and waist is required.
- Repetitive use of a telephone and computer mouse and keyboard is necessary.
